O-Level写作：动词延续性与非延续性的三类错误

技巧固然重要，但O-Level考试毕竟是语言能力测试，同学们在学习伊始还是应该树立正确的学习态度，不应该指望雅思学习有速成大法。在技巧的基础上脚踏实地地练习、整理与反思才是提高的关键。

很多同学纠结自己的写作常常卡分不知所措，背了再多单词，范文可还是无法提高。O-Level写作话题看一堆，思路写一堆并无实质进展。这种情况，注重文章改错或许更重要。仔细修改文章，发现自己行文中出现的那些语法错误，从句型中提高自己的写作基础。

写作中动词延续性与非延续性的三类错误

英语中瞬间动词不能与“段”时间状语连用，表达时应将其替换为状态动词或延续性动词。如：

(1) I have borrowed the book for two weeks. (误)

正：I have kept the book for two weeks.

析：borrow为瞬间动词。此处要使用延续性动词keep。

(2) My brother has joined the Army for more than two years. (误)

正：My brother has been in the Army for more than two years.

或：My brother joined the Army more than two years ago.

(3) Henry lent me a book and he told me that I could borrow it for a week. (误)

正：Henry lent me a book and he told me that I could keep it for a week.

■瞬间动词与till或until引导的时间状语从句或构成的短语连用时，应使用否定形式，否则应使用状态动词或延续性动词。如：

(1) He went to bed until eleven o’clock. (误)

正：He didn’t go to bed until eleven o’clock.

(2) He got married until he was thirty years old. (误)

正：He didn’t get married until he was thirty years old.

或：He stayed single until he was thirty years old. (stay为状态动词)

(3) He fell asleep until 9 o’clock the next morning. (误)

正：He slept until 9 o’clock the next morning.

■非延续性动词不能用于由从属连词 while引导的时间状语从句中。如：

While I came into the classroom，Mary was reading. (误)

正：When I came into the classroom，Mary was reading.
