GMAT语法中你不熟悉的as is the case

　　纵观北美研究生考试GRE、GMAT、LSAT，只有GMAT考语法。GMAT的句子改错部分本质上是美语思维、语意逻辑、结构层次、意群归纳、美式特别用法的一项综合学科，而不能仅仅在思维中理解为生硬的语法考试。

　　GMAT句子改错题在16年以后越来越强调对整句话的句意理解，对整个句子句意的统一和联系非常看重。

　　句子改错更多的是建立在整句话语境意义的前提下进行的划线部分与整句的联系性推理（整句话就是意义与结构的思维推理）。

　　对句子整体意义的理解，语意前后搭配逻辑关联的合理性是句子改错题的本质思维。

　　很多同学受高中英语学习的影响，认为GMAT语法学习也是一种无休止的积累过程。掌握的语法知识越多，句子改错就做得越好。这是一个很大的误区，因为GMAC官方实际上已经明确划定句子改错语法知识的范围，过多的判断标准在考场上完全就是对思维的干扰。

　　GMAT句子改错考试考察两个重要的比较词：as和like。其中like用于比较，后面必须加名词属性的内容且要求比较对象可比。as后面加一个句子，主从句的内容需要可比。需要注意的是这里的as是一个连词，而as还有一个特殊考法，那就是as is the case的比较，今天主要介绍这类题如何选择。

　　2: a fact that <is a foreigner, as is evident from his accent>

　　根据上面的描述，我们可以得出结论：在标准书面英文中，as在same或such后面引导定语从句或者指代前面的一个句子或名词，进一步补充说明。

　　其次as is the case后面如果不接具体内容，常见的表达为as is often the case，意即通常情况下。例句如下：

　　As is often the case, it happened so gradually that it was barely perceptible.

　　更常见的用法为as is the case + 具体内容，也可以写成as is often the case + 具体内容。该具体内容通常为介词短语形式，比较常见的有with短语、in短语或for短语，例句如下：

　　This is true even if the risk of transmission is low, as is the case with Ebola.

　　As is the case in other developed countries, immigrants to Britain are different in two ways.

　　And as is the case for many industries, going green could save firms money.

　　最后我们来看看as is the case在GMAT句子改错中怎么考。根据上面的例句，我们也可以看出as is the case的用法中，不要求比较对象具有可比性，只要句子逻辑意思合理即可。下面我们来看例题具体讲解一下。

　　As it is with traditional pharmacies, on-line drugstores rely on prescriptions to be successful,since it is primarily prescriptions that attract the customers, who then also buy other health-related items.

　　C.As is the case with traditional pharmacies, prescriptions are the cornerstone of a successful on-line drugstore

　　D.As traditional pharmacies, so on-line drugstores rely on prescriptions to be successful

　　E.Like traditional pharmacies, the cornerstone of a successful on-line drugstore is prescriptions

　　首先排除DE两个选项，D选项中的as后面加名词，那么as是介词，意思为作为，作为传统药店，意思错。E选项like后面的名词必须和主语有可比性，传统药店和基础不可比，排除。A选项中的it找不到指代，也排除。

　　对比BC两个选项，B选项的as with表示“如同…一样”，所以as with the case of traditional pharmacies是合理的表达，但不是非常常见，通常直接写成as with traditional pharmacies，C选项的as is the case with traditional pharmacies则是非常合理的表达。同时我们注意到，to have success修饰prescriptions非常拗口。

　　所以C为正确答案
