　　什么是平行结构？

　　两个或两个以上在结构上和逻辑上相似的语言结构叫做平行结构。

　　错误表达示例

　　The employees were upset by the company’s low pay, poor working conditions, and that they did not have enough outlets for their creativity.

　　错误表达修正

　　The employees were upset by the company’s low pay, poor working conditions, and shortage of outlets for their creativity.

　　① 名词的平行

　　名词与名词平行，名词短语与名词短语平行，名词短语与what从句平行

　　错误表达示例

　　The rebels demanded the withdrawal of government forces from disputed regions, significant reductions in overall troop levels, raising the rebel flag on holidays, and a general pardon.

　　错误表达修正

　　The rebels demanded the withdrawal of government forces from disputed regions, significant reductions in overall troop levels, the raising of the rebel flag on holidays, and a general pardon.

　　如果对于某个动作存在其对应的动作名词，避免创建复杂动名词，优先使用该动作名词

　　错误表达示例

　　The rebels demanded the withdrawal of govemment forces from disputed regions and the releasing of certain political prisoners.

　　错误表达修正

　　The rebels demanded the withdrawal of government forces from disputed regions and the release of certain political prisoners.

　　②形容词的平行

　　形容词与形容词平行，过去分词和现在分词（用作形容词）与形容词平行

　　示例

　　The park was neither accessible nor affordable.

　　A mastodon carcass，thawed only once and still fresh, is on display.

　　③ 动词的平行

　　动词平行注意逻辑意思的合理性

　　错误表达示例

　　James applied himself in his new job, arrived early every day, skipped lunch regularly, and left late every night.

　　错误表达修正

　　James applied himself in his new job, arriving early every day, skipping lunch regularly, and leaving late every night.

　　对于动词短语来说，第一个助动词、情态动词或to不能省略，其他的助动词、情态动词或to要么全部省略，要么都不省略。

　　It is critical to suspend activities, to notify investors and say nothing.

　　错误表达修正

　　It is critical to suspend activities, notify investors and say nothing.

　　④ 介词短语的平行

　　It was important to leave the money in the drawer rather than on the table.

　　⑤从句的平行

　　从句只能和从句平行
