　　SAT阅读中的历史类文章一直是让考生们最为“头痛”的。在阅读答题时间不够时，大家都通常被建议最后去完成历史类文章。这种现象反映了中国考生历史类文章通常正确率比较低。除去其他文章耽误时间过长而影响历史文章阅读这一原因。还有两座常见的“大山”挡在大家面前。

　　没有养成好的阅读习惯，即练习抓住历史类文章中作者的观点，导致读完文章没有任何思路，完全错过主旨。

　　历史类文献的取材范围在考纲中界定为“founding documents”和“global conversation”。大部分同学所最熟悉的选材，即在OG和可汗中最常出现的：女权／建国文献。

　　五月花号公约(THE MAYFLOWER COMPACT)：1620年11月11日，经过在海上六十六天的漂泊之后，一艘来自英国的名为“五月花”的英国3桅盖伦大帆船向美洲陆地靠近。船上有一百零二名乘客。他们的目的地本是哈德逊河口地区，但由于海上风浪险恶，他们错过了目标，于是就在现在的科德角外普罗温斯顿港抛锚。

　　Having undertaken, for the Glory of God, and advancements of the Christian faith and honor of our King and Country, a voyage to plant the first colony in the Northern parts of Virginia, do by these presents, solemnly and mutually, in the presence of God, and one another, covenant and combine ourselves together into a civil body politic; for our better ordering, and preservation andfurtherance of the ends aforesaid; and by virtue hereof to enact, constitute, and frame, such just and equal laws, ordinances, acts, constitutions, and offices, from time to time, as shall be thought most meet and convenient for thegeneral good of the colony; unto which we promise all due submission and obedience.
