O-Level语法总结：for和since表示“一段时间”区别

　　O-Level考试的科目有英文、华文、高级数学、初级数学、物理、化学、生物、科学、会计、历史、地理、综合人文等。for和since都可以形容一个动作持续了一段时间，所以有些同学可能产生疑惑，在使用时容易出错。for和since用法是比较好区别的，我们只需记住：

　　for+一段时间

　　I have lived in London for two years.

　　我在伦敦住了两年了。

　　They've stayed in Hangzhou for a week.

　　他们在杭州呆了一个星期。

　　The patient has been in hospital for over a month.

　　Our flight to San Francisco was delayed for two hours.

　　since+过去的一个时间点

　　I haven't seen them since last week.

　　从上周起我就没见过他们。

　　He has been working here since he left college.

　　他大学毕业后一直在这里工作。

　　I haven't been to the cinema for ages.

　　我好久没看电影了。

　　She has never returned her hometown since 2001.

　　自2001年以来，她从未回过家乡。

　　要进一步区别for和since，可能比较困难：

　　since一般表达从过去某个时间点到目前为止，所以主句中要用完成时态：

　　It has been sunny since Monday.

　　从星期一开始一直是晴天。

　　It has been raining since the beginning of the week.

　　从本周开始一直在下雨。

　　I had been working since 7 o'clock and I was really worn out.

　　我从七点钟就开始工作了，真是累坏了。

　　It has been three years since we last met each other.

　　我们上次见面已经三年了。/我们三年没见面了。

　　It has been two hundred years since the volcano erupted.

　　火山上次爆发到现在已经过去两百年了。

　　以上两句，“It has been +一段时间+since”句型，也可以用一般现在时！

　　for可能表示过去到现在的一段时间，用完成时:

　　They’ve been married for fifty years.

　　他们结婚五十年了。

　　I have known her for a long time.

　　我认识她很久了。

　　I have lived here for ten years.

　　我在这里住了十年了。

　　Jane has been on holiday for two weeks.

　　简度假已经两周了。

　　Joe has been practicing the piano for two hours.

　　乔已经练钢琴两个小时了。

　　但for也可能表示过去的一段时间或将来的一段时间，就不用完成时：

　　She lived in New York for six years and then moved to France.

　　她在纽约住了六年，然后搬到了法国。

　　He speaks English very well. He stayed in London for two years before.

　　他英语讲得很好。他以前在伦敦呆了两年。

　　He will stay with us for some time in the summer vacation.

　　暑假他将和我们一起呆一段时间。

　　You can keep these books for three months.

　　这些书你可以借三个月。
