SAT阅读：怎么搞定令人头疼的词汇题？

　　在SAT阅读中的，词汇题却往往会成为考生的绊脚石。最令人烦躁的是，四个选项单词分明都认识，但还是会选错，而且看了答案后，死活想不通怎么能是那个第一个先排除掉的选项。所以，到底该怎么搞定SAT阅读词汇题呢？

　　来一个例子：

　　12. In line ……, “want”most nearly means

　　A.desire

　　B.lack

　　C.poverty

　　D.requirement

　　第一步回原文“The memories of innocent people may suffer, hereafter, for wantof a record of the facts to which……” 小语境中：want事实记录，A渴望事实记录，没毛病，B却少事实记录，也OK，C觉得搭配不合适 D要求事实记录也没毛病

　　第二步我们只能打开语境，摘出主干 ……innocent……sufferfor want….. 根据tone&attitude，主语中的形容词 innocent 和谓语动词suffer，态度是负态度，所以我们应该选B. lack.

　　再来一个例子：

　　20. In line …, “trick”most nearly means

　　A.ruse

　　B.feat

　　C.illusion

　　D.peculiarity

　　第一步：回原文…….. often even to remember the original impetus for the work is a psychological trickof the highest order. 先要看一下定位单词处，就是“often even to remember the original impetus for ……”这半句，我们看到“to remember ……impetus……is a ……trickof highest…….”, 就知道trick是个正向词汇

　　第二步：我们就浏览一下选项，筛选一下，很多同学不认识A. ruse，剩余的三个中，我们都认识feat，大家背的最基本的意思 “功绩”，再多一个“技艺”，正向词, illusion, peculiarity, 非正向词

　　第三步：代入原句。我们把“功绩”“技艺”带进去，感觉很合适。

　　还有一个例子：

　　In line 12 “fine”most nearly means

　　A.pure

　　B.keen

　　C.sensitive

　　D.satisfactory

　　第一步：回原文“we have also determined that synesthesia can occur if the wiring is fine but the balance of chemicals that control brain activity is skewed.”这句话很容易把握住一个转这逻辑 “but”, 而它之前是 “fine”这个单词，一般我们先看but后的句意， the balance….. is skewed.,这个单词 “扭曲的”（负态度），所以我们就应该知道but前面的这句带有fine的逻辑是 “NOT skewed”（正态度）

　　第二步:看选项，A pure B keen D satisfactory都比较符合正态度

　　第三步：代入，也就是语境感觉肯定 D satisfactory 更符合“NOT skewed”的意思。

　　the final one：

　　20. In context, the word "visited" (line 35) most nearly means

　　Acalled on

　　B .shared an experience with

　　C haunted

　　D afflicted

　　第一步：回原文With a shock he became aware of me. and was severelyvisitedas before: but this time his motion was rotatory, and he staggered round and round me with knees more afflicted, and with uplifted hands as if beseeching my mercy. 这道题两种做法，在最有限的时间里，我们采取态度决定法更省时些。也就是说，我们很容易注意到 visited的前面有个明显负态度的副词severely,所以我们断定visited在本句话也会是负情感。（第二种做法随后的文章再说）

　　第二步：看选项。只有 haunted 和 afflicted 两个选项算是负态度，所以都排除了

　　第三步：代入。显然afflicted更合适。
