2. 下面两句话意思相同：
He lost 1000 dollars on the transaction.

3. 注意下面一句的真正含义：
My watch loses three minutes a day.
我的表一天慢三分钟。
4. lose是非延续性动词，其完成时的肯定式通常不可与表示一段时间的状语连用。例如：
He lost his car three days ago.
It’s three days since he lost his car.
这两句都意为：他的车丢了三天了。
不可说：He has lost his car for three days.
但可说：His car has been missing for three days.他的车已丢失三天了。

5. 英语可以说missing watch，也可以说lost watch。

Her son was lost to her.
这两句都意为她失去了儿子。
He never lost hope.
Hope was never lost to him.
这两句都意为：他从不失望。

They lost the train.
They missed the train.
这两句都意为：他们没赶上火车。第一句主要是英国用法。
9. 在lost no time(in)doing sth(不失时机地做某事)中，in可有可无。
They lost no time getting him to hospital.

这两句都意为：他们立即把他送往医院。
不可说：They lost no time to get him to hospital.
10.下面两句话都可说：
There’s no time to lose.
There’s no time to be lost.
